Creating a Place to Play & Stay
Owner Nate Groenendal built Golf Haus as a membership-based indoor golf lounge where people would want to return. It’s a place for practicing your game, competing or spending time together. Members have 24/7 facility access, premium tee times and complimentary access for up to three guests. Golf Haus also hosts tournaments and private events.
To make drinks easy to access during a visit, Groenendal added a custom-wrapped, eight-tap iPourIt Self-Pour Kiosk.
An 8-Tap Self-Pour Kiosk Built Into the Golf Haus Experience
Golf Haus added a custom-wrapped, 8-tap iPourIt Self-Pour Kiosk, created in partnership with Micro Matic. It serves beer, cold brew and premium soda.
For Groenendal, self-pour offered a way to make beverages easy to reach. It also kept the focus on golf, darts and time with friends.
“I chose iPourIt because it provides our members with an easy and seamless way to pour their own drinks while letting them focus on the Golf Haus experience,” said Groenendal. “Just as important, the team at iPourIt has been fantastic to work with. Their responsiveness and willingness to help throughout the process has been very encouraging.”
The mix of beer and non-alcoholic options also adds flexibility. Golf Haus can offer more from the same eight taps.
Adding GoTab Enhanced Pour
Golf Haus is also using GoTab Enhanced Pour with its iPourIt kiosk, giving guests another way to access self-pour.
A GoTab QR code is displayed on the tap screen. Guests can scan it from their phone to access the self-pour experience through GoTab.
Behind the scenes, iPourIt automatically tracks each ounce poured. That gives Golf Haus visibility into its beverage program while keeping the process simple for members.
The combination works well for a concept like Golf Haus. Here, beverage service supports the larger reason people are there: to play, compete and spend time together.
Building Golf Haus in Mundelein
Opening a new business means managing countless decisions, vendors and details at once. Groenendal said having partners he could rely on throughout the Golf Haus buildout made a difference.
“My experience with iPourIt has been great, and they have been awesome to work with as I work my way through building out the facility,” Groenendal said. “There are a thousand things as a business owner that come up as you build out a space, and they have been one of the things I can count on going right.”
For iPourIt, Golf Haus is a great example of how self-pour can fit into an indoor golf and entertainment concept. It adds to the venue without becoming the focus.
Golf Haus is about golf, competition, community and having a place members want to spend time. Self-pour simply gives them one more way to enjoy it.
