South Durham’s KoKyu, an international street cuisine-inspired fast-casual restaurant, features 12 self-pour taps using iPourIt technology.

Durham, N.C. (August 23, 2019) – The brick-and-mortar shop of the popular food truck KoKyu opened its second location in South Durham last month. iPourIt increases its lead in the self-serve beverage dispense technology market with the installation of a 12-tap self-pour beer wall.

KoKyu owner David “Flip” Filippini says, “We’re excited to bring something unique to Durham, and the self-serve beer wall is already a hit with our patrons. What’s not to love about pairing your choice of beer with our duck fat tots?”

Darren Nicholson, VP of iPourIt, adds, “iPourIt is excited to work with Flip on this install. He’s an intelligent and creative businessman with a recognition of the need to be innovative in the bar and restaurant industry to stay competitive. There will be a fusion of authentic street-inspired food and revolutionary technology, providing a unique customer experience and supporting businesses growth for both iPourIt and KoKyu.”

KoKyu is a modern fast-casual concept offering international street cuisine made with slow-cooked meats and fresh produce from the KoKyu Farm, which is focused on regenerative and sustainable agriculture practices. Similar to the popular KoKyu food truck, the new South Durham location incorporates street art influences with street art murals, global street food menu offerings, and an outdoor patio.

KoKyu’s menu features sliders, tacos, fresh rice bowls and favorites from the food truck like short rib quesadillas and duck fat tots. Additionally, KoKyu’s new self-serve beer wall features a rotating selection of local and regional craft beers.

iPourIt’s self-serve beverage dispense technology provides the freedom of choice with the 12-tap self-serve system. The pour-your-own concept allows patrons to pour their own beverage, make their own buying and pricing decisions, avoid long bar lines, and try a specialized offering of their choosing without having to purchase an entire pint.

In the Streets of Southpoint, KoKyu’s new location is surrounded by other shops, restaurants, entertainment venues and several South Durham neighborhoods. The new location is now open to the public.
