Darren Nicholson

Darren is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for iPourIt, where he specializes in discovering the ideal self-serve experience for each iPourIt location. With over 20 years of know-how leading sales and marketing divisions for major technology brands such as: General Electric, ObjectVideo, Agilence, and Checkpoint Systems; Darren invests his time to comprehensively understand each location’s layout and operations before recommending an iPourIt system. His partnership approach with operators is the fundamental reason why iPourIt consistently has successful launches for each self-serve location.

As a Finance and Business Management graduate from the University of Oregon, Darren is an avid Oregon Duck fan (GO DUCKS!). He also served for six years with the U.S. Navy in two P-3 Orion Patrol Squadrons home ported out of Moffett Field, CA. As an aviation electrician, he toured in places most will never see including Adak, AK, in the Aleutian Island chain, and Diego Garcia, a tiny atoll smack dab in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Oddly enough during his first tour with VP-47, Darren served alongside Stanley Kirk Burrell, or more famously known as MC Hammer, which is likely his closest brush with “stardom”.

After years of driving major growth and acquisitions of technology companies, Darren launched a successful consulting firm specializing in retail security. He chose to expand his career, which led him to iPourIt. The moment he was introduced to the technology he knew he wanted the opportunity to help iPourIt drive the self-serve revolution.

A Few More Words About Me

I’m an avid outdoorsman, especially when it comes to fly fishing, hunting and boating. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest during the beginning of the craft beer movement, which is where I discovered my love for craft beer. I currently am an empty-nester living in Victoria, Minnesota with my beautiful wife Kris, and our loving dogs, Coco and Lolly.

Go-to Pour

Darren’s first go-to pour is New Glarus Moon Man…when he can get it. New Glarus only sells its beer across the border in Wisconsin. This No Coast Pale Ale is always number one on his list when visiting his son Marc at The University of Wisconsin. His second pour would likely be Bell’s Brewery Two Hearted Ale, not only because of the cool fish logo, but it’s named after a favorite river – The Two Hearted River – in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
