The holidays are here! It’s time for cozy clothes, family reunions, pumpkin-flavored everything and… tasty ciders!
In the spirit of “cider season,” we analyzed over 3 million ounces of pour data from more than 220 iPourIt self-pour locations to find out the top 15 most poured hard ciders so far this year.
Here are some highlights:
#1 Ace Pineapple Cider | Ace Cider – Sebastopol, CA
TASTING NOTES: Ace Pineapple is the world’s original Pineapple cider. While on vacation in Hawaii, we tried adding fresh pineapple juice to our apple cider and it resulted in this delicious tropical libation! ABV: 5% (Untappd)
→ The #1 most poured cider (out of more than 660), with twice as many total ounces than the runner up. It was also the #5 most poured out of ALL products including beer, wine, seltzers and more.
#2 Strawberry Magic | Ciderboys Hard Cider – Stevens Point, WI
TASTING NOTES: Come alive to crisp apple hard cider blended with the fresh taste of strawberries, soft and deep red, backed by mouth watering sweetness and a delicate hint of tartness. This is Strawberry Magic Hard Cider kicked up with a hint of Saturday night. We blend it a little differently around here. If you’ve never tried it, get ready for confetti. ABV: 5% (Untappd)
→ Ciderboys had 5 flavors in the top 20 this year including Peach County, Pineapple Hula, Blackberry Wild and Grand Mimosa.
#6 Black Widow | Original Sin – New York, NY
TASTING NOTES: Black Widow is fruit-forward, yet tart, with a tantalizing complexity, made with blackberries and freshly pressed New York apples. ABV: 6% (Untappd)
→ 2018 and 2019 Silver Medal Winner at Great Lakes Cider Competition. Pairs well with hard cheeses and summer fruits.
#9 Key Lime Cider | 3 Daughters Brewing – St. Petersburg, FL
TASTING NOTES: Hard apple cider blended with key lime juice for a uniquely Florida taste. The semi-sweet apple flavor is nicely balanced by the tart, zesty key lime juice. Serve cold for a refreshing break from the hot Florida sun. ABV: 5.5% (Beer Connoisseur)
→ Wanna check out another great cider from this Florida-based family-owned brewery? If you can get your hands on it, we suggest the Blueberry Peppercorn Cider.
#14 Triple Jam | Blake’s Hard Cider Company – Armada, MI
TASTING NOTES: Strawberry, Blackberry + Raspberry. Jam Packed, Berry Refreshing. ABV: 6.5% (Untappd)
→ This semi-sweet cider is inspired by the juicy berries grown on the Blake family farm. They recommend mixing with vodka for a yummy cocktail.
#15 Mango Cider | Keel Farms Agrarian Ale and Ciders – Plant City, FL
TASTING NOTES: Growing best in the southern part of Florida, mango adds more than just a tropical feel to the cider. It also delivers a round and full body. Combined with the natural acidity of the apple, it will leave your mouth watering for more of the succulent fruit. ABV: 5.3% (Untappd)
→ “Hands down the best cider company I’ve come across. Actually tastes like a mango. So good.” – Joshua K. via Untappd. Pssst! They have Pecan Pie and Pumpkin flavors too!
